The Mustangs use a variety of schemes. We have adopted the references to these schemes as A,B,C,D, E and “Firewall”. Schemes A, B were typically found on the MK1a and Mk II aircraft and E and the Firewall scheme were used on IV (teardrop canopy).
It is important to check your reference for the particular aircraft you are building. Mixed patterns can be found in the same squadron. The wing layout is a useful guide. You many need to look at the our range of Mustang masks when making you selection. The Nose design of the mask in sets A,B,C and D allow for the raised ridge of the Allision engines as well as the Merlin Engines. 15” and 12” strips and a tailband are provided for use where applicable.
This set includes only the camouflage pattern. Please see our extended pack for which includes insignia and code letters. We also have an Insignia pack which provide the Roundels only.
